Stripes have always been an integral part of the world of Marimekko patterns, and Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi too designed a number of striped prints during her years with Marimekko. The Varvunraita (twig stripe) pattern from 1958 is composed of thin, delicately painted lines.
