Marimekko’s Kurre cotton fabric continues Aino-Maija Metsola's exploration of animal-inspired designs, joining her previous beloved collections featuring patterns like Peura, Ilves, and Rusakko. In this latest creation, Kurre—a Finnish nickname for "orava," meaning squirrel—a lively family of squirrels is brought to life, gathering nuts in a charming, playful scene. The design is inspired by Metsola's own childhood memories, adding a personal and nostalgic touch to the fabric.
Printed in Helsinki, Finland, this fabric is made of a cotton-linen blend, with part of the material being recycled. This eco-conscious textile is ideal for sewing custom tablecloths, curtains, or other home décor items, blending natural beauty with sustainability.
