Marimekko’s iconic Unikko poppy pattern first bloomed in 1964, during an era when the brand was known primarily for its abstract designs. Breaking from tradition, designer Maija Isola set out to explore the beauty of organic forms, creating a bold and expressive series of floral prints. Unikko has since become a symbol of creativity and stands as one of Marimekko’s most recognisable and celebrated motifs.
