Faulty Within Warranty
Furniture
Our furniture comes with a 2-year structural warranty. If your furniture is faulty or an incorrect timber, material or colour, please contact your closest showroom. For full details, please view our Terms and Conditions.
Homewares
If your homeware product is faulty, please contact your closest showroom. within 48 hours and we will exchange it. If it cannot be exchanged, we will offer a full refund.
Lost or Damaged Goods
Customers are responsible for inspecting all goods upon delivery. Any damage must be noted on the delivery docket presented to you by the carrier for signature. Notification of any damages or shortages is required within 48 hours of delivery. The Modern will not be responsible for any damage unless we are notified within the time period specified.
We are here to help you, so should your goods arrive damaged, please contact your closest showroom. You will be asked to provide written details of the damage as well as photographs of internal packaging, any damage to the external packaging, close ups of the damage, and the furniture in situ. The goods must not be used prior to determining the damage remedy.
If you are self-assembling your furniture, please inspect the furniture prior to assembling for any damage which may have been caused during delivery. If there is any damage, please do not commence assembly but contact your nearest showroom. The Modern is not liable for any damage that occurs during assembly or as a result of being assembled incorrectly.
If your goods are damaged in transit or not what you ordered, subject to the damage, we will choose to either repair or replace the item (at no cost to you). If we cannot replace the item, we will refund you in full including the delivery charge.
Furniture Purchased In-Store or Sight Unseen: Change of Mind
Customers are responsible for making sure furniture will fit through doors, up stairwells and in lifts. Please ensure that the furniture that you purchase is suitable for your room. If you change your mind, unused and unmarked goods can be returned in their original packaging within 7 days. Customers can return the goods for either an exchange or a credit note only to the value of the original goods. Customers will be required to pay a $100 restocking fee as well as any delivery costs associated with returning the goods. The original delivery charge will not be refunded.
Exceptions to this include:
- Bespoke and 'Made to Order' products, such as custom sofas
- Clearance Stock (Warehouse, Floor Stock etc)
There are no refunds for change of mind.
Homewares: Change of Mind
If your full-priced item is unsuitable and in original condition with original packaging and the receipt, we will offer an exchange or a credit note within 7 days of purchase. If you cancel a lay-by or change your mind following payment of the deposit, we are happy to offer an exchange or credit note within 7 days of purchase.
Exceptions to this include:
- Bespoke and 'Made to Order' products, such as custom lampshades
- Clearance Stock (Warehouse, Floor Stock etc)
- Gift Vouchers
