Marimekko Unikko Shape Plate

This special plate celebrates the 60th anniversary of Marimekko’s iconic Unikko pattern, which was marked in 2024, and features a debossed Marimekko logo on the base, beautifully presented in a commemorative Unikko anniversary box. Originally created by Maija Isola in 1964, Unikko reimagined the floral print at a time when Marimekko’s founder, Armi Ratia, believed the true essence of flowers couldn’t be captured in design. Rather than aiming for realism, Isola transformed the bloom into a bold, abstract motif, creating a pattern that has since become a global symbol of creativity, joy, and the playful spirit that defines Marimekko’s design legacy.
